These 15, including eight corner rooms, offer a distinctive experience. With 12' ceilings, abundant natural light and Pagano's soaring velvetine drapes, each room feels particularly spacious.
Like New Orleans, there is an ecclesiastical element woven into the design. Gali Art's wrought-ironbedside tables with cruciform feet, Erica Larken's totem-inspired cafe tables and the Pagan Cross corner console ebonized and silver-leafed, are each topped with honed Calcutta gold marble. Sharp Aquos flat-screens and iPod players are within easy reach. A generous seating area includes a 5x8 mirror, crystal chandeliers and an "LM Chair", Pagano's chair-and-a half design, upholstered in antiqued velvet. King beds have a 7' tall oyster-colored headboards of tufted leather and white Fili D'or linens.
The superior rooms generous bathrooms feature dark granite vanities with oval Kallista basins andthe elegant exclamation mark of a tall beveled mirror, which together subtly suggest ecclesiastical vessels. The vanity light's dramatic canopy of cascading Swarovski crystals adds just the right touch of rich ornament in an extravagant finish.
Recently renovated by Los Angeles-based designer LM Pagano, designer of choice for Nicolas Cage and Johnny Depp, the two suites reflect Paganos self-defined style: "... pristine but tattered grace, coupled with unexpected moments that radiate this city's unique sense of time and place".
